Important Information Before You Apply
At Beat, our priority is to ensure that everyone who
accesses our programmes receives the right level of care and support for their
needs, in a way that is safe and effective. Our programmes are designed as
low-intensity, guided self-help interventions delivered online. This means
that while they can be highly supportive for many people, there are some
circumstances where a higher level of medical or specialist input is needed
alongside or instead of what we can offer.
Because of this, we’re unable to offer our support
programmes at this time if you:
- Are
currently pregnant – we recognise this can be a particularly sensitive
time, and you’re welcome to re-apply once your pregnancy and postnatal
recovery are complete.
- Have
Type 1 diabetes, as this requires regular medical monitoring and
coordinated multidisciplinary care that our online programmes cannot
safely provide.
- Are
currently taking weight loss medication or actively following a
weight-loss programme – to access our support, you would need to have
stopped this, in discussion with your prescriber or healthcare team.
We understand this may be disappointing to hear. This
decision is not a reflection of your motivation to seek help or the seriousness
of your experience; rather, it’s part of our safeguarding responsibility to
ensure that everyone receives the right support in the safest way possible.
If any of the above apply to you, we’d encourage you to
discuss your options with your GP or healthcare provider, who can help you find
a service that offers the level of medical or specialist input you may need
right now.
You’re also welcome to return to Beat at a later
stage if your circumstances change, and we will be glad to explore which of our
services might then be most appropriate for you.
